30% reduction in print/copy costs plus no more headaches managing multiple suppliers and consumables for London Jewellers.
 
Founded in 1977, Oceanic Jewellers Ltd – a leader in the market of fashion jewellery and accessories with their own  flagship brand Majique,  are based in the heart of London’s fashionable Soho, and have relentlessly focussed on honing their core capabilities of designing, creating and supplying jewellery to their continually growing base of wholesale and trade clients.
 
Background
Due to Oceanic’s rapid growth and urgent staff requirements, office equipment had been purchased as the need arose and selected by the best purchase price on offer at the time.  This resulted in Oceanic having three separate devices to fulfil their print, copy and fax needs from different suppliers; a Canon L900 standalone fax machine, which met their needs perfectly and was covered by a service agreement.  Unfortunately it did not perform any other function apart from faxing and cartridges were not included, which meant additional expense and administration when consumables were required.  A Canon GP 160 was utilised for photocopying requirements and was also included on a service agreement but, again, time was required requesting consumables and engineer attendance.  The third device, an HP colour laserjet was purchased at a bargain price but due to its cartridge-based technology, the cost of consumables soon exceeded the initial purchase price. 
 
In addition to the rising costs and the time being spent managing three separate devices and the ordering and storing of the separate consumables, the number of staff was on the increase due to the company’s success and expansion.  It became obvious that a further device would be required to accommodate the additional output being produced.
 
Consequently, Oceanic approached Quadtronix, a Canon business partner, to source a cost-effective in-house solution for colour printing, copying and faxing, one that would help them to keep production costs to a minimum and reduce administration effort.
 
The Quadtronix Solution
Chris Rumble, a Corporate Account Manager at Quadtronix carried out a review and print audit of the three devices and spoke to management and staff.  Current volumes and costs and future requirements were taken into account and a proposed solution was built around the Canon imageRUNNER C1028iF colour A4 multifunctional.

 
The device was delivered and installed within 10 working days, all staff were trained and it was included on a fully-inclusive service agreement, thus providing Oceanic with peace of mind knowing their print and copy environment had a dedicated, reliable, award-winning backup strategy by a highly reputable service team.
 
The agreement included a response time of 4 hours for callouts, all colour and mono toners, parts and labour, regular maintenance and the remote monitoring service, Capture-IT.  Among its many benefits, this service provides:

  • A fully automated collection of meter readings without the need for human intervention from which accurate invoices are generated automatically;
  • Automated Toner Supplies— toner is  automatically delivered before the device supply is exhausted, saving time and inconvenience.
  • Intelligent Alerts—automatic alerts ensuring Engineers attend service calls with the right parts for a first fix solution, thus ensuring increased device availability and uptime.
  • Scheduled Reports—daily, weekly, monthly, usage reports available, based on actual meter readings and emailed direct to the client for internal budgetary purposes.
