At Quadtronix, we aim to achieve sustainable development and harmony between ecology and corporate activity, to contribute to worldwide prosperity. We believe that in order to work towards a harmonious accord between people, technology and nature, all corporate activity must take the environment into consideration, and that a company incapable of environmental assurance does not deserve to continue operations.

We are committed to saving the environment, we believe in the principles of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. To prove our commitment we have registered with the Green Card Network.

In all our activities we are aware of the global environment and actively and creatively promote conservation strategies. Ecology is at the forefront of the Quadtronix policy of "EQCD" which stands for ecology, quality, cost and delivery.

We ensure our Company follow the guidelines as laid out in the WEEE directive

The European Union (EU) has issued a directive on waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) which is meant to mitigate the impact of WEEE on our environment. The WEEE directive has begun its implementation in the EU Member States from August 2005. Most EU countries have transposed the EU directive into national law for local enforcement. The WEEE directive stipulates that the rate of recovery of WEEE shall be increased by an average weight of at least 70% while the component, material and substance reuse and recycling shall be increased to a minimum of 50% by 31 December 2006.

Hints and Tips for a Greener Office

  • Use non-chlorine bleached environmentally responsible paper for all your printing
  • Identify a paper collection point(s) in the office for recycling bins to dispose of waste paper
  • Use energy saving lighting
  • Make maximum use of daylight and always switch off the lights at the end of the day
  • Avoid using plastic cups and disposable products where you can
  • Use rechargeable batteries
  • Ensure your electrical equipment is Energy Star compliant
  • Don’t have the air conditioning on at the same time as the heating!
  • Ensure monitors, PCs, photocopiers and printers are switched off at night
  • Enable power saving features on your computer monitor if you are not typing (rather than a screen-saver, which saves your screen but not your energy!)
  • Buy goods with a recycled or reconditioned content
  • Include eco-criteria in major purchases
  • Ensure proper maintenance of office equipment to enable them to work more efficiently
  • Buy products that keep packaging to a minimum
  • Implement a simple recycling scheme. Check out ICER (Industry Council for Electronic Equipment recycling)
  • Use proof and hold to ensure a document is correct before printing a long print run
  • Set your printer’s or copier’s sleep mode, so when it’s not actually printing/copying the energy consumption is minimal
  • Use ECOToner for draft documents to reduce the amount of toner used
  • Don’t overprint documents. Take care to calculate how many copies you really need to cut down on wastage
  • Print and photocopy using a double sided or using n-up layout wherever possible to reduce paper wastage and cost

Higher yield toner cassettes mean fewer replacements and less waste

Can you imagine 10 double-decker buses?
Can you imagine 100?
Now try imagining 1,700 buses… full of used toner cartridges.
That’s the potentially noxious cocktail of plastics, rubber, foam, brass, copper and aluminium being consigned to UK landfills EVERY year.

Once scrapped, these are consigned to landfill as a potential problem for future generations. ECOSYS toner cassettes are not only much smaller than cartridges, but they also contain only 1 type of plastic which is ID coded for easy recycling.
